From Sketch to Spine-Chilling Reality: The Creation of Eternal Nightmare Player Tokens

When we set out to design the player tokens for Eternal Nightmare, we wanted to create something more than just markers on a board. We wanted each token to feel alive—or rather, undead. These tokens had to capture the eerie essence of the game while being something players would treasure. How did we achieve this? Let us take you behind the scenes of the token-making process, using Twisted Timmy as our prime example.

The Initial Spark

Every token started with a simple idea, brought to life through detailed sketches. Twisted Timmy was imagined as a ghostly, mischievous child with a sinister aura. Our sketches were rough but full of personality—Timmy’s slouched posture, clothes, and unsettling grin all hinted at the dark story behind the character.

From Pencil to Precision

Once the sketches were finalized, we handed them off to a skilled CAD engineer. This step was crucial for translating the eerie charm of our hand-drawn designs into precise, three-dimensional STL files. With painstaking detail, the engineer ensured that every fold of Timmy’s clothes and every strand of his hair would look perfect in miniature form. The result? A digital model that captured every eerie nuance of the original sketch.

Metal Brings the Nightmare to Life

Next, the STL files were sent to our specialist printers to be turned into metal player tokens. The transformation was magical. Suddenly, Twisted Timmy wasn’t just a concept—he was a tangible part of the game. Cast in metal, with every detail brought to life, the token felt weighty, durable, and utterly creepy—exactly as we envisioned.
